Shawver Well Company is a northeast Iowa well-drilling contractor founded in 1937 by George Shawver and relocated to Fredericksburg in 1950. The company installed one of the first geothermal heat pump systems in northeast Iowa in 1979, establishing an early foothold in ground-source loop drilling. Shawver employs certified well drillers and pump installers and maintains active membership in IDNR, Iowa Ground Water Association (IGWA), Iowa Well Water Association (IWWA), and the National Ground Water Association (NGWA). The 89-year-old firm's driller-first model applies directly to geothermal vertical bore loop installation as a subcontractor to HVAC installers and as a direct-to-owner service provider.
